Prospective Parliamentary Candidates (PPCs) will only respond to correspondence from their constituents, so you need to include your postal address when you email them.
Make sure to mention that you are one of their constituents (which just means that you live in their area — whether this is all year around or just parts of the year).
Explain in a couple of sentences why you care about supporting vulnerable babies. You could mention your work with families, or the challenges that you have helped families to overcome.
Include our key campaign messages:
- At least one in ten babies in the UK is living in fear and distress. These babies are scared and overwhelmed by disrupted relationships with their parent or main carer.
- Without help, these babies are more likely to develop mental health conditions in childhood.
- This Infant Mental Health Awareness Week (10th-16th June) charities, politicians and experts are promising to ‘Speak up for babies’, to make sure babies are not forgotten.
Ask your candidates to join our campaign to ‘speak up for babies’ too, to help families and babies in their constituency. Do please include a link to the Speak up for babies page where they can sign up to support the campaign.
If you are able, you could also invite them to visit your service too (see our visit guide for planning a visit).
Sign off saying you look forward to hearing back from them.
