New film launched as part of evaluation of parent-infant service in Essex
05 May 2021
The Parent-Infant Foundation has launched a short film highlighting the experiences of families and referrers using a new specialised parent-infant relationship team in Essex. The film contains some powerful testimonials from parents about the difference the service has made to them and is a must watch for anyone making the case for parent-infant relationship teams.
In 2019, the Parent-Infant Foundation received funding from the National Lottery Communities Fund to work in partnership with the CCGs of Essex, Thurrock and Southend, and Essex Partnership University Trust to support the development of a new parent-infant relationship team. The film is based on feedback received when the implementation of the service, called ‘Together with Baby’, was independently evaluated by City University’s Maternal and Child Research Team at the start of 2021. The evaluation findings by City University London include insights about what matters to families and referrers who engage with a parent-infant team.
The film is available on our YouTube Channel now. An evaluation summary is available here or you can read the full evaluation report by City University London.
We hope this project and the evaluation will be a used as an excellent example of where partnership working can really help support the growth and quality of specialised parent-infant teams across the UK, and crucially to help us ensure that all babies have a sensitive and nurturing relationship to lay the foundations for lifelong mental and physical health.
