Introducing the New Chair of the Parent Infant Foundation, Nick Wilkie

The Parent Infant Foundation is delighted to welcome its new Chair of Trustees, Nick Wilkie.  Nick brings a wealth of experience in the children’s sector from his previous roles as Chief Executive of NCT (National Childbirth Trust) and London Youth, and UK Programmes Director at Save the Children. 

Nick joins Parent Infant Foundation at a critical time as we build on our work to support and drive the growth of specialised Parent-Infant Relationship Teams across the UK. 

As the findings in our recent report Babies in Lockdown show, families are facing unique challenges associated with COVID-19.  Nick’s experience and passion will be a huge asset to the Foundation as we work to ensure that babies and young children are the heart of local and national decision making in this challenging time.  

Speaking about his appointment, Nick said: 
 “The Parent-Infant Foundation mission resonates with me so strongly. Having worked with teenagers, primary school-age children, and, most recently, babies and their families, I am deeply committed to the importance of the first 1001 days, and the extraordinary opportunity that providing support from the start affords.   

I am also motivated by Foundation’s twin strategy of working locally and nationally – building front-line capacity whilst also supporting the national case for investment in parent-infant support. It has been great seeing the Foundation grow and I feel privileged to be joining the team as we seek to increase our impact further.” 

Chief Executive of the Parent Infant Foundation, Beckie Lang said:  
“We are so excited that Nick will be joining the Parent-Infant Foundation Team and I am very much looking forward to working with him.   Nick’s experience and insight will be of such benefit to the Foundation as we continue to make the case for specialised services on both the local and national stage.”

“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our outgoing Chair, Tim Loughton MP.   Tim has been a brilliant advocate for early years.  He has captained the organisation through a period of rapid development which has set our course for future success.  We are forever grateful for his work with us and will continue to work with him in his role as Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group Conception to Age Two.”
