There are currently 51 specialised Parent–Infant Relationship Teams (known as Infant Mental Health Teams in Scotland) and many more developing services across the UK.
Our definition of a specialised Parent–Infant Team, developed from over two decades of sector experience, can be found here. The Parent–Infant Foundation believes this multidisciplinary model offers the most effective way to meet babies’ emotional and developmental needs.

While the map focuses on services where the parent–infant relationship is the primary focus, other services also play an important role in supporting early relationships:
- Perinatal Mental Health (PMH) teams often provide valuable support for parents experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties, which can affect their relationship with their baby. Find out more here.
