Course details:

The Au Milieu CPD programme offers a relationally grounded exploration of infancy, adversity, cultural context, and clinical practice. All seminars count towards CPD hours and are intentionally priced to remain accessible for frontline practitioners.

These five seminars introduce the key branches of theory, research and clinical practice that inform work in early relational health. Topics include attachment theory, early brain development, the impact of adversity and maltreatment, and the clinical interventions that can support vulnerable families. The course concludes by examining how early experiences may influence later mental health and behaviour.

The Impact of Poverty on Early Relational Health

This seminar explores how economic hardship can affect the relationship between parents and their very young children. It examines the multiple stressors associated with poverty and how these can influence caregiving, infant development and family wellbeing. The session also considers the wider societal and policy context, highlighting how supporting parents and babies is shaped not only by individual factors but also by the conditions families live within.
