There are currently 46 established specialised parent-infant relationship (PAIR) teams around the UK and many more smaller PAIR services in development.
The definition of a specialised parent-infant team can be found here and is based on practice in the sector over the past two decades. The Parent-Infant Foundation believes this model of a team is the best way to meet the needs of babies.
Team locations
You can use the map below to search for specialised parent-infant relationship teams / infant mental health teams across the UK, that meet this definition* as well as other parent-infant services.
- The purple pins show established parent-infant relationship teams that meet our definition.
- The orange pins show other parent-infant services ranging from smaller community-based offers through to highly developed specialist services (sometimes based in CAMHS). Many of these are working towards becoming a full Parent-Infant team, but at this point in time, do not meet our full definition.
If you are aware of any parent-infant teams or services that are not on this list, we are keen to know about them so we can invite them to join the Parent-Infant Teams Network. Please get in touch to let us know.
In addition to the above services shown on the map, there are also many parent-infant offers within Perinatal Mental Health services, for parents who have moderate / complex to severe PMH difficulties.
* All teams listed on this map meet the Parent-Infant Foundation's definition of a team through a self-reporting process. Each team operates its own governance structure and is responsible for its service delivery. If you have a concern regarding any service provided by one of the teams, please see our guidance here.
